Debaters into Final

Congratulations to both of the debating teams that competed in the semi-finals of the Sutherland Shire Debating Competition last week. Our Year 9 team performed very well but were pipped by Heathcote High School. Our Year 8 team defeated Kirrawee to reach the final.
Inaburra Year 8 team, composed of Cara Brady, Chelsea Iverach, Erica Lim, Angus Evans, Jack Thompson and Roshan Pillai will compete against De la Salle College on November 3rd at Sutherland Council Chambers. The topic is 'That we should support our own'. Inaburra is the negative side. We wish them all the best.
Debating has enjoyed a very successful year, with our Year 7 team reaching Round 3; our Year 10 team the Quarter-finals (where they were defeated by Inaburra Year 9); Year 9 the semi-finals; and Year 8 the final. Well done to our Debating Leader, Mr. Watson; specialist coach, Chelsea Gordon; and Head of English, Mrs. Williams.
