What a win!
Date:29 May 2009
Inaburra First XI Football played Trinity First XI in the Independent Schools Knock-out Competition on 28th May at Seymour Shore Park. The boys played exceptionally well, winning the game in a penalty shoot-out after scores were locked 1-1 at full-time.
Marko Neskoski put Inaburra ahead early in the second half, finishing off a clever free-kick by Sam Cornish. Trinity struck back within minutes after a mix-up in the Inaburra penalty box. Both sides had chances in the final minutes but the scores remained level.
At the end of the compulsory penalty period scores were still even. It took a great save from CIS goal keeper James Cain for Inaburra to win the game. The boys were rightly proud. Trinity is a school of 1800 boys: Inaburra has 450. Trinity play together every Saturday: Inaburra came together for this competition. Well done to Mr Dixon and Mr Lucas - they are on cloud 9!
