Leadership Report

Each week in the Junior Assemebly, two of our students provide us with report of the week's activities. Last Friday, Olivia Followes and Kaylah Lynch presented one of our most comprehensive reports. As you read this you will get a small insight into the types of things the Junior School students participate in each week.
KBlue
K Blue have been learning the sound F. They've learnt it can be written in 3 different ways ph, f, ff. They have made fat fish, funny face biscuits & funky flowers. In maths they've learnt about patterns, curved & straight lines & open & closed shapes. They have read the big book Hairy Bear.
KRed
K Red have learnt the letter F and made fat fish with their finger prints. They've learnt how many vowels are in their names. They read a story about Harris the Naughty Puppy.
1Purple
1Purple have been writing poems about what we can do. They have been drawing pictures of themselves in art. They've been having lots of fun in math's groups & they're nearly finished the premiers reading challenge.
1Ruby
1Ruby have been learning about living & non living things. In math's they've been counting by 2's, 5's, & 10's. They've been playing Rob the nest in sport & have enjoyed the parents coming in to help read their sight words. In Chinese, Mrs Kwong has taught them how to say yes, no, red & blue.
Year 2
Year 2 have been writing sing quavers' . In art they have been making decorative whales. Parents have been coming in for math groups. They've been getting ready for Easter by singing Easter songs. They have been reading the magic school bus.
Year 3
Year 3 have learnt scissors, paper, and rock in Chinese and also learnt ‘hello and then their name. In sport they played dodge ball and poison ball.
4L
4L sketched bicycles, they studied litres in math's, for sport the girls played Zulu ball and the boys played continuous cricket. In fitness they played octopus and are finishing the book Because of Winn Dixie, and are very excited about their excursion to the Royal National Park.
4T
4T this week studied capacity in math's, they did a science experiment on friction, and they too are looking forward to their excursion to the Royal National Park.
5H
5H this week are writing narratives in class, they had fun playing dodge ball in PE, and are learning their 9 times tables. They are sketching gold mining tools, and they watched BTN. They also had loads of fun on year 5 camp.
5B
5B are writing procedures on how to build and make a volcano. They also are bringing in materials to make their volcanoes. They are learning their 6 times tables and are excited to work in Mrs Kwong's new Mandarin classroom. Year 5B also enjoyed year 5 camp.
6Y
6Y this week have done a science experiment with their bugs they needed to collect for Mr Lee. They are learning to multiply fractions. They have rewritten the first few stanzas of My Country by Dorothy Mackellar.
6G
6G are also learning how to multiply fractions in math's. We went to Mrs Kwong's Mandarin classroom and she told us her weakness. Mr Lee asked us to collect bugs for a science experiment. We have written a comprehension on The Man from Snowy River. We are starting to gather information for an ecosystem book. Mr Butchatsky has read us the poem Mulga Bills Bicycle by Banjo Paterson.
