Student Leadership

Inaburra seeks to actively engage students in the learning process. Thus, there are both formal and informal pathways to leadership within our school.

Formal

Each year twelve prefects are elected by the senior school student body and teachers to become prefects. Of these students, two captains and two vice captains are selected. The prefects are announced at the completion of the election and the four captains are announced on Presentation Night.

The 2009 School Captains are Nathan Woellner and Bethany Platt

The 2009 School Vice Captains are Samuel Beckman and Sally Conwell

The 2009 Prefects are Ashleigh Bedford, Ellie Faase, Maddison Nolan, Stephanie Summersby; Joshua Laurence, Alistair Shaw, Ben Stavert, Brad Stoicescu.

The senior leaders of the school select a project of school improvement for their year of service. They also serve the school through leadership of assemblies and at special events.

Middle School Leaders are also elected each year. They support the prefects in their role.

In 2009, the Middle School leaders are:  Jasmine Finch, Emily Jamieson, Gemma Mallin, Yolande O’Donnell, Tyrah-Jade Wallis, Amelia Williams, Jackson Buckley, Bradley Couszins, Lloyd Griffin, Aaron Trutwein, Blake West, Matthew Zammit.

Year Six students take on the role of Junior School Leaders as a shared responsibility.

Inaburra also operates a lively and active Student Representative Council.

Informal

  • Aspects of the direction and production of Presentation Night
  • Aspects of the direction and production of the annual school production
  • Aspects of the Fete and Open Day
  • Special Events within the school
