Middle

The Middle School at Inaburra is led by Mr Brett Hartley. His team includes the Director of Middle School Welfare, Mrs Cathy McGovern , and the Director of Middle School Learning, Mr Liam Bailey.

Middle School at Inaburra has the following features:

              *  Understanding of the learning
                  needs of 12-15 year
                  old students

              *  Year 9 leadership program

              *  Case management program
                  for students requiring learning
                  assistance

             *  Year 6 students receive 
                 specialist teaching
                 from middle school teachers

              *  A varied extra-curricular program

In Years 7 and 8 students have a full and varied program of learning, studying: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Biblical Studies, Mandarin, PD/H/PE, Information Technology, Technology subjects (Food, Wood, Metal, Design), Music, Art, Library.  The Middle School resources in these subjects are excellent, providing opportunities for students to thrive. Both Apple and PC computing platforms are taught and utilised.

In Years 9 and 10 students complete the School Certificate. Year 9 students complete their compulsory studies in:

• English
• Mathematics
• Science
• Australian Geography, Civics and Citizenship
• Australian History, Civics and Citizenship
• Computer Skills

Other non-examinable compulsory subjects are:
• PD/H/PE
• Biblical Studies

As well as these compulsory subjects, students select three electives from the following list.  Please note that whilst most subjects are timetabled each year, the availability of each subject is dependent on class sizes.
